Larry McGahey
NEWS   What.... over here.....what?
I am Larry McGahey and lately have been doing instrumentals that feature the electric guitar backed by my electronic band. In the past I have played in a variety of bands, duos etc. including Renaissance Fair. If you have ever heard 'In Wyrd' that is my Gibson SG the first time I played it.
Why this name?
I didn't.
Do you play live?
I played live for years all over da UP and the US mid-west now I would rather stay home and look for change in my couch.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet gives me an outlet for the music I create so that's cool.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Not this week.
Band History:
I wished I had a guitar when I was 8 years old so a very nice man named Ernie Messer let me borrow one of his Gibsons. Then my mother took me to Atkinson's Music Store to see if my fingers were long enough for lessons and my Mom and Dad got me a 3/4 size Harmony. When I never practiced my lessons my Father told my Mother not to take me to have my toes measured for dancing lessons.
Your influences?
Paul Desmond, Johnny Winter, Van Morrison, Robin Trower, Stephane Grappelli, Lee Ritenour, Rick Haynes, Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, John Coltrane, Jackson Browne, David Lindley, John Mayall
Favorite spot?
Home and the Seney National Wildlife Refuge.
Equipment used:
Orion Platinum, Sonar Producer, Soundforge, Gibson SG, Fender Stratocaster, Fender Telecaster, Variax 700 Blue hard tail, Yamaha flattop with Tim Shaw pickup, POD XT Live, J-Station, custom computer with Aardvark soundcard DirectPro 24/96 for recording. I have just added BFD Drums to my tool box.
Anything else...?
I would like to thank Laura for making my life complete.
