In a time dominated by the shallowness of cheesy pop, it is nice to see a song come along that is deeper than our everyday music. This is the case with Blu Cantrell's current single, "Hit 'Em Up Style."

It's a song that is emotional from beginning to end. You can hear the sadness in her voice as she belts out powerful lyrics about her loved one cheating on her. She reminisces about the past, which her man took away from her. Through it all, she still manages to give advice to the ladies in her situation. The chorus states, "Hey Ladies when your man wanna get buck wild, just go back and hit 'em up style. Put your hands on his cash and spend it to the last dime, for all the hard times." She feels the only way to get back at him is by spending his cash.

Not only is Cantrell unique, but she is talented too. She is a talented writer and vocalist. Her voice is both strong and soulful. With this blend of talents, her debut album, So Blu, which hits stores July 10th, is sure to be a success. Keep an eye out for the album; I know I will.
