Primarily Rock influenced guitar work (but not all of it is). I do the best I can with the time, gear, and skills available. The Band is, quite limitedly, jus

OPIUS MODULUS (INSTRUMENTAL).mp3

A monstrous tune full of sonic landscapes! Heavily laiden with guitar phrases, piano, synth, sluggin' drums...and more...enjoy!

Hello and welcome to this little musical watering hole. I hope you'll stick around and play a few.
Band/artist history
Fatal Vision (1986-1989?) It was a high school thing...we all had great fun! After that, I just did my own thing with studio gear...no more bands per say.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I am playing guitar for the Praise and Worship team at Hope Springs Church. Some sideline music ministry at times when it presents itself abroad....then...there's that arena in my head...hmmmm.
Your musical influences
In the early, what I like to call, the "angry" years, at the time the influences were the typical '80s fashion: Metallica, Megadeath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, AC/DC (the power players); then a little bit of Testament. More melodically, I liked Quensryche, Fates Warning, and Dream Theater etc...those guys are GOOD. Then of course I took a shining to a few guitar greats such as Joe Satriani and the ever enigmatic Steve Vai. I shall never hope to play like them, but their influence can probably be heard. Then, as more grey hair started to fill in, I recently got re-introduced to playing keyboards...so, my music took another turn...still morphing. Finally, these days I really like Contemporary Christian music...of all kinds actually...but trending towards the grittier stuff of course.
What equipment do you use?
Not the greatest nor the most expository that's for sure! I have an "old" Roland VS1680 (using mostly as an external mixer these days), 4 guitars (3 too many), Line6 POD 2.0 kidney, Yamaha Motif XS6, and Mackie's Traction 3 Ultimate bundle as my DAW of habit. Some favorite VSTs include Garratan's Instant Orchestra (awesome), Submersible Drum Core Delux, and a few dinky Amplitube products that I've never used yet...I'm also a fan of PGMusic's Band in a Box product...very cool stuff there.
Anything else?
I think I have a few guitar pics that are at least 20 years old...worn to a nub...LOL
