I'm Scott Campbell of Scottytunes.com. I'm a self-taught multi instrumentalist, composer and live performer. I specialize in traditional and neo fiddling styles, and I'm also doing lead guitar work for bands. My favorite thing to do is mix rock and other styles together, matching up screaming guitars with acoustic violins to create a new cutting edge style all of my own. My one-man band consists of fiddles, keys, guitars, bass, mandolin and percussion.
When Scott was just 13 years old he had recorded an album with his father, brother and sister. While he was still 13, he and his family members appeared in concert along with such greats as Johnny Hartford, Vassar Clements, Earl Scruggs, Grandpa Jones and Minnie Pearl. Scott has also performed in concert for the council for the performing arts in Ticonderoga, NY, at the New England Summerfest, New England States Exposition, and appeared at the Chandler Music Hall in Randolph, VT on many occasions. He has performed in concert to benefit Home health and Hospice for several consecutive years. When Scott was a young lad, he was fortunate to have rubbed elbows with the late Graham Townsend, one of Canada's Master Fiddle Stars. Much of Scott's fiddling influence stems from Graham Townsend, Don Messer, Al Cherney, Paul Menard, Jean Luc Ponty, and more. Scott has prevailed in countless fiddling competitions from the age 12 to present.
I play live throughout New England. I love performing and used to love competing. My most special moment was being inducted into the National Fiddlers' Hall of Fame in 2005.
Many fiddle stars and many rock bands of the 70's and 80's are all influential in my playing.
Instuments: Seven fiddles, two Les Pauls, GT-8 Guitar Processor, two electronic pianos, a synth, two Bass guitars, a mandolin, Roland TD-3 V-Drums, DR-880 Drum machine, Roland VS-2000, Roland VS-2400, Dynaudio BM5a's, Rode and AT mics, and some other stuff.
I love working with other peoples music as much as I do my own. Always ready to supply fiddle tracks or whatever else I can to help out. I have an overactive sense of humor and I love to joke around.
