Secret Love (Rocket mix)

This is an early demo version, recorded at Rocket Studios. The album version will be much more electronic sounding with re-recorded vocals as they're awful on this mix!

Lonely As A Rose (AllGood mix)

A good old-fashioned synth-pop romp! This demo version features lead vocals by AllGood - Paul Goodall, lead singer with In Session (www.insession.co.uk) with me on backing vocals.

Does He? (demo)

Quite a sad song about betrayal. Very deep! This is the first demo of this song so is likely to change somewhat when I record the album version. There is a second chorus with different lyrics, which I have yet to add.
is all about making simple, fun, electronic pop songs, in the spirit of electro-pop pioneers Erasure and Yazoo. is the recording name of Paul Keen, who has been writing and recording his own music for several years. He doesn't play an instrument, it's all programmed on a computer and it's a true labour of love. You can keep up-to-date on all things Bispatial on the brand new website at or visit Bispatial's page. As Bispatial, Paul has had a good start to 2008. He has just completed the vocals for a track with fellow Soundclick artist . Entitled "Hiding From The Storm," the track can be heard on the music page. Have a listen to Bispatial's demo's on the player. If you like what you hear, e-mail Bispatial at info@bispatial.co.uk and let Paul know!
Band/artist history
Bispatial is the recording name of me - Paul Keen. The roots of what would eventually become Bispatial began in my teenage years. After dabbling with guitar-based groups, frustration at performing covers of Beatles and Oasis songs forced me to start my own band. Armed with a synth and a sequencer, I was finally able to do what I had always wanted - write original songs. Unfortunately, they were rubbish! Fast forward 15 years, having honed my song-writing skills, I'm finally creating the sort of music I'd always dreamed of, writing lrics to properly express myself, producing melodies that move me and most importantly - to share my songs with others. This is the kind of music I always wanted to produce. Bispatial is the band I always wanted to be in - strange then, that there's only me in it!
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I've only performed live once as Bispatial so far and will be doing so again shortly (see www.bispatial.co.uk for details of the next gig). I can't lie; I was terrified but I absolutely loved it and it's made me want to sing live more often - I just need to crack on and program enough tracks!
Your musical influences
First and foremost - Electronic pop music! I have a profound respect for well written melodies, which is demonstrated by my musical heroes: Erasure, Depeche Mode, Yazoo, Pet Shop Boys, Deepest Blue, Venus Hum, Dubstar, Kisty MacColl, Sarah McLachlan, Annie Lennox, Alison Moyet, to name but a few. The single biggest influence on my song-writing and musical 'sound' has to be the man with the midas touch - Vince Clarke!
What equipment do you use?
I began recording songs on a Yamaha QY10 mini-sequencer, to which I added an E-Mu Orbit/Dance Planet sound module. I then employed a Tascam 4-track recorder followed by Cubase SL before finally dumping the lot in favour of nothing more than Garageband on my mac.
Anything else?
I've written a fair amount of songs over the last few years and I am now finally getting around to recording them properly, many with vocals for the first time. As such, the songs you hear on this site are in the main demo versions. After releasing several one-off projects, I am currently working on a 4-track e.p. of original songs, entitled "Unrequited" which will be followed by a full-length album entitled "Pariah." I have been working with a new band called SURE, on their debut track entitled "Home." An excerpt and a live version can be heard on Sure's page. I have also just completed the vocals for a track with Washington-based dance act - entitled "Legs" - and I have been co-writing with .
