Thomas Palminteri is a singer/songwriter, composer with a subtle and varied gift for lyrics and melody in the tradition of Paul Simon and Randy Newman. He has written both songs that tell a story such as ïSpring Has Goneï and Waiting for the No.12 and composed instrumental music such as ïJourney to the Black Madonnaï the enigmatic Mass in C that defy categorization.
In his teenage years he developed a strong appreciation for Rock music beginning with The Beatles and later became enamored with the more eclectic groups of his adolescence such as the Talking Heads and Elvis Costello. Later in college when he decided to study music more formally Tom became deeply affected by Classical and Jazzï particularly J.S. Bach, Mozart, Faure and Debussy.
At Purchase I started the group Eric's In Oregon in the late 1980ïs as a showcase for me and my friendïs songs. Although I consider them all to be terrific musicians eventually Eric's In Oregon became a ïsometimes a group sometimes a solo actï kind of thing featuring mainly my songs and compositions so as of late I am playing out as simply Tom Palminteri. I am still great friends with the former members of Ericïs In Oregon. Many of there names are listed here. But right now I am currently looking to record and perform as a solo artist, Tom Palminteri.

Many of my influences have been listed here. I see my work in the tradition of people like Paul Simon and Elvis Costello (in that I dabble in classical and jazz) although as you can see there are many influences here such as The Beatles, Elvis Costello, Paul Simon, The Who, The Kinks, Bruce Springsteen, Simon and Garfunkel, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, R.E.M., U2, Joni Mitchell, Louie Armstrong, John Lennon, Elton John, Gabriel Faure and many others to be sure.
I feel music is a great art form. It has the power to touch many lives. I try my best at creating good music and meaningful lyrics.
I've used Tascam 4-tracks, ADat-8-tracks, 16-tracks and live to CD and some others.
I just bought myself a Casio Privia TX-110 with 88-Keys and I've been trying to use it more for my composing.
