I played piano since I was 4 years old.
Here's what life is really about.
As I get older, my musical talent matures just as I do. When you have more life experiences to express in music your overall expression is deepened with emotion and your technique becomes more fluid.
I have been playing for Nordstrom for about 10 years. What a neat job I have playing great pianos in a department store. I have also played in nightclubs, restaurants, and piano bars with solo and with various bands.
I love the Motown sound for its strong deliberate rhythmical structure. Yet, I do enjoy Chuck Mangione, Chick Corea and Stanley Clarke, Billy Joel, Elton John, and Carole King. I praise Chaka Kahn and Roberta Flack for their talents as well as the greats like George Gershwin, Cole Porter, and a Hoagy Carmicheal. I respect all music and aim to try to appreciate where the artists are coming from.
The Beatles are legendary and Eric Clapton and Babyface (Kenny Edmonds) have made a great impact on my life. Music feeds the soul.
I love a Steinway or Kawai baby grand...but my Korg Triton keeps me busy for hours!
I own an Ensoniq EPS Performance Sampler and just recently own the Korg Triton Extreme '88 for gigs and production work.
If you give me a listen don't think inside the box. I am a very dynamic player and can do a variety of styles with the right equipment. Not only do I play acoustic but eletronic keys as well. Recently, I have been playing "live" on Friday nights at the Warehouse Restaurant in Marina del Rey, California. Come by and check it out...great food and I'll take your requests.
Also, check out the Red Velvet Variety Show with Veronique Chavalier, a very unique class act!
I accompany her french-style songs.
