Since 1999 I've seen many faces and played with many bands. Too many to recall. The younger years ended up being just a bunch of dicking around. I played my first actual paying gig as a bassist in a band in Indiana. It was a great feeling getting paid to do what I loved. Didn't even ask for money, was just thrilled to play in front of people and they liked what they heard. Back a few years ago I was in a band that got to headline the Frenchburg, KY Mountain Memories Festival. That was an experience to be had. Sure you might think it's just some small ass hick town festival, everyone has those. To me it was the highlight of my life. I've had a handful of good, paying gigs I can recall. These days I'm just a one person band. I've found that it's the same no matter who you play with. Once things get serious people become assholes and it's all or nothing. Even if the band isn't that great. I still long to play with people and I'll always have that notion in the back of my mind that this would be a great paying career, but I've always thought music should be free. Well at least my music should be free for those who might enjoy it. You may say I have no talent at all, but to me music is life and I'll keep recording and playing through good and bad comments because there is always that one person you connect with musically. Even if that one person will always be me.
