I have been playong and writing for thirtyfive years. I do all of the arranging myself as well as, the bass, guitar, lead vocals, percussion, lead guitar, and backup vocals. All of my songs are about real life. I grew up in Aberdeen Washington, where there were a lot of good musicians. Kurt VanDerhoof, played a big part in my youth, as I used to hang out with that crowd, along with Craig Wells, both from METAL CHURCH. Also THE MELVINS, Dale Crover and I used to jam, but I usually played the drums and he played the guitar, which were eachothers instruments. I played mostly with the younger crowd, Robert Novacelic,John Weiland, Greg Hogansen,Aaron Burckhart,Bob McFadden, just to name a few. Even though I never jammed with Curt Cobain, we were from the same neighborhood, and I played with alot of the same people. Krist Novacelic's brother Robert and I were best friends. We both sawed shingles in the cedar mills for years.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Although I don't have any gigs right now, I love to play live. I guess it would be easier if I could find a band. I may have found a bass player here in Olympia though(riding the bus) I love to play live!! My favorite live show was at The Northwest Passage, when Mark Olmstead was doing sound, several years ago. He realy gave me THE POWER!!! It sounded great even though I was playing solo acoustic, with my girlfriend at the time, Kellie Alcock, singing backup vocals.
Your musical influences
I listened to alot of, LED ZEPPLIN,BEATTLES,ERIC CLAPTON,METTALLICA,JUDAS PRIEST,SCORPIONS,
What equipment do you use?
Up until about July of 2009 I was using a FOSTEX VF80 Digital tracking machine, my Kona 12 string guitar, and a Boss DR5 DR Rhythm(I played real time drums and bass with my fingers), along with my Schecter Omen, with Gibson Double Humbuckers. When I started working for Christies Mallternative in Astoria, I was using The Boss BR 1600, which was cool because it had a CD burner on board, and I could take it to the computer, for mastering on a CD instead of recording it analogue.
