TripWired is:
Roy Hoard: Vocals
Johnny Fryer: Guitar
Wes Fullerton: Bass
Bret Dean: Drums
TripWired is currently a music project which officially started back in Feb 2007. It was an out of the blue "get together" with 4 friends whom have played on and off with one or the other, always at different times or places. Never before have just these four gotten together exclusively, until now. Roy Hoard, Johnny Fryer, Wes Fullerton and Bret Dean all got together in a makeshift studio near Eatonville, WA. One day, we plugged in, sat down, hit record and began to play whatever felt good. And good it felt! There was definately magic, and the feeling was mutual! All four members have played independantly over the years, in different bands, from all levels of experience. Some members currently play in local cover bands from blues to hard rock, and one is currently signed on a label in a death metal band called "Drawn and Quartered". Again, TripWired is nothing more than a project, which have been just rare get togethers over the past 2 years, "playing off the cuff, improvising on the spot", converting pure raw musical feeling thru our instruments, into potential songs. Its not quite work yet, in other words, its still fun! TripWired on occasion, can be seen in and around the Tacoma / Seattle music scene, anywhere from an Open Mic Night to exclusive Private Parties. You can hear more of our songs at www.myspace.com/tripwired1. Also, Johnny has a soundclick site somewhere here as well with his own personal bio (JD Fryer) and has our 2 very raw recordings we (TripWired) did in 2007 (also in a garage) with a 4-track cassette recorder. The songs are listed as "Improv1" and "Improv2". "Improv1" is basically known to us as "The Riff" song. We've done nothing with this song yet other than messing around with it at rare jam sessions. The other, "Improv2" is our first run "Rock of the World" song, which you can find a more refined recording at the myspace site we listed above. Anyway, thanx for checking us out, we hope you enjoy listening to us. Again, these are all very raw recordings, all recorded in a garage somewhere in Tacoma, on Roy's digital recorder, except the our two songs ("Improv1" and "Improv2") found on Johnnys Soundclick site. Those 2 were done with a 4-track cassette recorder. Soundclick.com/tripwired. Enjoy!
We play private parties, sometimes we hit an open mic jam and play 2 or 3 songs we've made up. Maybe even making one up (improvising) on the spot.
Anywhere from Alice n Chains to Zepplin. Too many great bands to list!
Marshall, JBL, Fender, VOX, Gibson, DW, Pearl, Zildgen, and a shitload more, hell i dont know....im just the drummer.
We all believe that the four of us together, have an unusual magical bond together. And considering we very rarely get together (meaning no scheduled practices) in spite of this, each time we do get together (on average maybe 10 times in the past 2 years) we always manage to end up creating 2-3 songs each jam session which lasts approx 2-4 hours of actual jamm time, all effortlessly (what a trip it is). You all know the feeling when you are jamming, and all of a sudden you feel that feeling, something clicks, you get on this roll, it continues to grow and grow, your in that groove, and feel it throughout the room, the room is now radiating, and you look around and everyone is shakin their heads (including yourself) hahaha.... and its happening! We are all very proud of the opportunity we have, creating these songs from scratch, "off the cuff" improvising off the top of our heads. It is always a privledge jammin with each other. We are all friends and all ride scooters too (harleys...what else?). Again, thanks to anyone reading or listening to us. Its definately a blast to us!
