Sponsored By Poverty is a two man comedy band from Bel Air, Maryland.
Consisting of Brandon Pfeltz and Mike Perrie, they've been making comedy music since 2005. Both men play guitar and sing, and all songs are a joined collaboration of music and lyrics.
Their songs contain elements of rape, awkward sexual attraction, homophobia, racism, and other hilarious topics. Their musical is generally enjoyed by those who do not have a huge stick up their ass. As you might have been able to tell, they do songs that are for adults, and then songs for children as well. They are available for christenings and strip clubs alike.
Sponsored by Poverty recently did a taping for Comcast, won first place in Magooby's Comedy Club's 'New Talent Night', and has played many live gigs. They've also recently released their demo EP, 'Will Sing For Food'.
"If Sponsored By Poverty were around at the time, the American Revolution would have been a hell of a lot easier!" - George Washington
"Stop sending me your fuc*ing CD! I don't care about white people!" - Kanye West
"Sponsored By Poverty - they're the reason I do it." - President Barack Obama
Sponsored By Poverty plays live all around Maryland, and soon to be New York. They love to spread their music around, and yes, they have had many special moments, thanks.
Flight of the Conchords, Tenacious D, Stephen Sondheim, The Beatles, Randy Newman, Wesley Willis, Weird Al, Glen Hansard, and just a variety of others.
Two guitars, two microphones, and a whole lot of sexiness.
