Just working out some guitar stuff and looking for a place to post it occasionally. The music will range from fingerstyle jazz to straight out instrumental rock to singer/songwriter stuff to hard rock stuff from my band Serikulus (www.myspace.com/serikulus; www.soundclick.com/serikulus).
So far on this page you will hear three different singers. All great in their own right. The female singer is someone I just started working with. Her name is Anita. We plan on doing some acoustic duo stuff once we have enough material under our belts. I know that we have over 20 originals songs to put together, but we have only met 3 times so we have only got about 6 songs done so far.
The other two singers are Charlie and Kyle. Kyle was the original singer for the band Serikulus, but life got in the way so he had to bow out. You can only hear him on Temptation. Charlie lives in Texas and was here for two nights. He helped me work out a few tunes that were new at the time. We recorded Keep it to Yourself, Funky Good Life, A Colored Scene and Silent Seduction in two roughly 3 hour evenings. He learned the songs right before we recorded them. After hearing them, I altered the lyrics a bit here and there so I am eternally grateful for his assistance.
I have been playing since I was 16. Now I am 35. I work in the computer field and playing guitar is my hobby. It is an on again off again love affair.
We are working on it.
There are many! SRV, Satriani, Voodooland, Skywynd, Tommy Emmanuel, Pat Donohue, Steven King, Masa Sumide, Union, John Corabi, and all classic rock tunes that have a good beat and driving guitar.
My main guitar is a Carvin CT4M, though I have many electric guitars including various Carvins, a couple of American Strats, an old Kramer and a Les Paul standard. I play Bourgeios, Taylor and Manson acoustics. My main amps are a Boogie Lonestar, Carvin V3 and a Marshall TSL100. I have recently fallen in love with the Taylor expression system because you can plug right into the board with it and get an amazing sound. All of the C&A tracks were done with a Taylor 514CE plugged right into the Boss BR 1600 without anything else. It is a lot easier than messing with mics, I assure you and the sound quality is about the same or better.
Both the C&A project and the Serikulus project are going slow but sure. Serikulus has nearly 8 demos recorded (a couple parts missing on a couple of them) and about 13 tunes rehearsed. C&A took a long break but we are getting back at it now.
