Growing up in a family with consistent musical presence, Justin Adam's life began to evolve around music and production. For several years Justin would spend time in recording studios while his father engineered and mastered albums for local rock and jazz bands. These early years of being surrounded by music left a lasting impression on his life and inspired him to create music of his own. At an early age Justin was introduced to R&B and Hip Hop. He relieved his first piece of vinyl, "Rapper's Delight" by the Sugar Hill Gang, when he was only five years old. It wasn't too long after, that he would begin to spending money on albums like "License to Ill", "Bigger and Deffer", and "Strictly Business." In 1989, after seeing Digital Underground's Dj Fuze in concert, Justin decided to buy a Radio Shack dj mixer. Along with his father's Technics SL-220 and his mother's Sansui turntable, he began scratching and and recording mix-tapes. These mix-tapes became a neighborhood favorite. Selling them for $5.00 each, Justin raised enough money to pay for his Technics 1200's. "DNA derives from the strands of my creativity forming the body of my music," says Justin, "so in 1994 I started labeling my mix-tapes and rocking house parties under the name DJ DNA." Soon after he joined the "360" dj and production crew with DJ Misak and DJ Anonymous. Producing tracks for various Sacramento mc's, DNA gained experience in studio production in preparation for his future in the music industry. In early 2000, DNA shared the stage with two San Diego based groups, Future Shock and the Solseekers. Throughout that year DJ DNA began recording with both groups and eventually joining Capture in reconstructing the Solseekers. In 2001 Synatx Records signed the Inklings, a super crew consisting of Future Shock, Solseekers, bTwice, and DJ DNA, to a multi-record deal. DJ DNA has done production and for several groups and compilations, such as, Future Shock, Solseekers, the Inklings, Soul Components, Fashion Expo, and The Night Owls. As well, he has shared the stage with groups, such as, KRS-ONE, LA Symphony, Spontaneous, The fingerbangerz, Soul Components, Dirt, The CUF, Addict Merchants, Hase and ISK.
