Limehead is an incendiary quartet of inspired musicians producing meticulously crafted hard rock/metal masterpieces. Their skill has earned them a reputation among the underground New York rock scene as artistic visionaries who use each song as an opportunity to sonically violate their audience in innovative new ways. Witnessing Limehead’s stimulating brew of blues, rock, and metal is more of a journey into a nightmare than a night out, but for some reason the audience keeps growing.
Tim O’Brien (Lead Guitar) has been playing guitar since his days in the womb. His big break came when he was struck by lightning at the tender age of twelve. The ordeal ironically left him with sparkling white teeth and abnormally supple joints which allow him to perform at a level that can only be reproduced by the coordination of ten mere mortal guitarists.
Bob Mendelson (Lead Bass) plays bass better than you. His megalomaniacal appearance belies a creamy middle wherein conceptions of the bass guitar are destroyed, resurrected, and invented. His sound will not fail to intrigue and/or frighten, by design.
Brian Doolan inherited the role of Limehead’s vocalist after pummeling the first Limehead vocalist into a coma for the simple reason that he “gave me a bad coupon.” No such incidents have occurred since, as those around Doolan have apparently “learned their lesson.”
Oli Burkat (Drums) is as versatile as he is “phat.” This rock veteran walks, eats, sleeps, and farts to the beat, and his rhythms are solid as balls. His inventions include the comma, the calculus, and the odor.
Yes - In and around New York City. Our best gig to date was at CBGB's in the summer of 2004
Limehead's top influences include Metallica, Rage Against The Machine, and Tool, all of which we have covered at one time or another, and in this drummer's opinion, we sound like a combination of all three of those miraculous bands.
