New Empire

A metaphorical criticism of US foreign policy - in the form of a poppy ska/punk song...
Stitchface are a ska-core band from New Zealand, blending raucous punky choruses with catchy brass melodies...
Band/artist history
The band was formed in 2003 and spent a solid six months practicing before heading out on the live scene in 2004. The first year saw shows racked up with a wide variety of acts including This Night Creeps, The Managers, The Offbeats, The Deadline, Love Like Electrocution (Aust.), Stardrunk, Autozamm and many more. Over time, the band's sound has become more edgy and less poppy, with the vocals becoming more abrasive and more distorted guitars creeping into the upstroke-led songs. Stitchface have recorded their debut EP, "Night of the Living Thread", out on Stakeout Records.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We've only played inside New Zealand so far, but memorable shows include Auckland's Underground Fest '04 and Wellington's Punkfest '04 - nothing quite like hundreds of punks of all ages skankin' it up!
