Band/artist history
Jaime’s Bio Born July 27, 1979, A beautiful brown eyed baby girl knew at a very young age what she wanted to be when she grew up, but first Jaime had to survive her turbulent childhood. She was bounced around a lot between aunts, uncles, grandparents, and other people due to all the family issues that constantly plagued her. Music and writing became an outlet for Jaime and a good form of therapy. It helped her deal with all the turmoil and depression that surrounded her. Jaime always loved music. As a child she was in Jr. choir and loved singing to some old 8 tracks until she realized she was really snappy at making up her own material. Though the abuse still continued, Jaime never let the anger consume her enough that she would give up on the one thing that she loved and the one thing that saved her life and gave her the will to survive, music! All the madness only fueled her passion to write and to pursue her dreams. Even through lack of support, no money, coming from a small area, and not a clue how to get started, she decided to give it a shot. By this time in life she had nothing to lose. She had hit rock bottom in her life and felt like she was living in a coma. The chain of events that led to this were the passing of her grandma, (the only stable person in her life), losing her job, (that she loved which was the one good thing she had going), breaking up with the man she thought she’d marry, losing her best friend and the only stable home she had. She was left with nothing but feelings of hopelessness and despair. She needed to find her true self and what made her happy. At this time she was already 21 and had moved over twenty times in her life. As they say, When you hit rock bottom you have no where else to go but up, and Jaime did just that! In 2001 a music store opened in her town. After losing everything she had ever cared about she said what the heck, and on a whim began to make her first demo. A lot of changes occurred, both on the inside and out, over a years time while Jaime was recording her 6 song demo. Music was truly the inspiration that pulled her out of the hole of depression she had fallen in. Finally in April of 2003 Jaime began to come out of that coma. She became closed off to others in order to focus. Routine became an obsession, determination became obvious, and success was in her grasp. When she snapped her fingers and woke up she was finally happy with the girl looking back at her in the mirror- the new Jaime that loved life and herself. She realized life is way too short to waste on depression. It was time to deal and heal. Despite the fact that it’s been a rough road for Jaime, she wouldn’t change a thing because it all just makes her a stronger person in the end. In June of 2003 she found her way to Foundation Records recording studio where she recorded her debut hip-hop album, The Girl Next Door. She worked double shifts at her day job and had many sleepless nights so she could be fully dedicated to her music. After a long seven months, her album was completed. Eleven songs covering many subjects that she is very excited about. Her future plans include promoting her debut album through her local area and also on her awesome new website www.jaimesdoor.com and expanding from there. She wants to get her name out nationally doing as many shows as possible. She has also been working on new material for her sophomore album. Jaime is driven and passionate about her music. With a little luck and the right people in her corner there is no telling how far her talent can take her. An open mind is required because of Jaime’s unique hip-hop style. It’s unlike the typical rap music people hear on the radio these days. It has a mix of pop, R&B, and a taste of old school rap. Jaime hopes that you will enjoy it because there is something on this album for everyone.
