To the West

West, west, we’re bound for the west
West, west, we’re bound for the west
Bound for the west, bound to the west.

To the west, to the west
To the deepest heart of man
To the west, to the west
From the slumber of the sand

Nothing’s so crucial as looking inside
Peel off the layers, the ones that have lied

To the west, to the west
To the soul’s unvarnished core
To the west, to the west
What our meditation’s for

You may be living inside of your head
Passing for human while already dead
You may be living without knowing why
You feel pressured to hold up the sky

Chorus: Aren’t we just like that, but we can’t deny that
Vision of wholeness we feel inside
Nothing is lacking except it be pride

West, west, we’re bound for the west
West, west, we’re bound for the west
Bound for the west, bound to the west.

To the west, to the west
To the dream of being whole
To the west, to the west
Through the maze of self-control

Go to the mirror and beware what you see
Half-man, half-monster is our destiny
One foot in heaven, one paw in the mud
Angel or animal, creature or god?

Chorus: Aren’t we just like that, but we can’t deny that
Vision of wholeness we feel inside
Nothing is lacking except it be pride

West, west, we’re bound for the west
West, west, we’re bound for the west,
Bound for the west, bound to the west
