Love a Dangerous Game

I never asked for you but you're here
And so let the game begin
No choice, no control, no fear
I hear the fat lady start to sing

Love is such a dangerous game
Breaks your heart and brings you pain
And no one's ever really won before
You win a battle but lose the war

How long must we play this game
Pretend there's hope when none remains
A hotel room of broken dreams
Is all that left or so it seems
You may not know just what you do
But my feelings are real and I blame you

Since you came along I'm lost
Lost because of all your lies
And now I start to count the cost
Love hurts that no surprise
