When the Snow begins to Fall
And the world has gone to sleep
In the silence and the wonder of it all
I weigh my memories against the secrets that you keep

When the night begins to wail
Sitting by the fire's glow
The shadows grow as the light begins to fail
Thinking back on the life I'll never know

And the first time that I met you there was no way to see
That the memories that we'd share would mean so much more to me

I watch you dressing by the window
Your silhouette in silk and lace
The familiar comfort of each gesture that make
Your distant gaze with that little smile upon your face

Curled around you half asleep
Huddled in our winter bed
I never dreamed that I'd fall for you this deep
I'm drifting off to the last thing that you've said

And the first time that I met you
There was no way to know
That the memories that we'd share
Would grow...and grow.

And the first time that I met you there was no way to see
That the memories that we'd share would mean everything to me

The way you close your eyes
When at last we're all alone
In your arms I finally realize
It's not too much to dream that I'm finally home

It's taken all these years
To come to terms with what I knew
No one else could brush away my fears
If I must grow old let it be with you

And the first time that I met you there was no way to know
That the memories that we'd share would grow...and grow
