I was standin' on a platform, waitin' for a train when
I saw my baby walkin' with another woman
So when he came home I asked him where he had been
and when he told me lies I told him what I had seen

He said "Baby , you know you mean the world to me"
I told him "honey, this ain't the way it's gonna' be"

He told me that he loved me, but I knew that he could lie
he came up close to kiss me, I said " baby, you just try"
He made me so damn mad that I threw him out the door
and when he told me lies I told him not to come back anymore.

He said "baby, you know you mean the world to me"
I told him " honey , this ain't the way it's gonna' be.

But he said "I'm sorry, so sorry, so sorry baby
I didn't mean to put you down, I'm sorry if I hurt you.
I was just messin' around

So Now I sit here lonely, cause I don't have no friends
I belt that whiskey down and then I belt it down again
My man is with that woman now, and I am all alone
Sometimes I think I' d like to go and ask him to come home

I'd say "baby, if you come home I'd let you in
But he'd say "Honey, I don't think I'll be comin home again

And I'd say "I'm sorry, so sorry, so sorry baby
I didn't mean to put you down, I'm sorry if I hurt you.
I was just messin' around
