Founded in 2002. by Goc (drums), Viktor (bass) and Joc (guitars), Machine Insufficiency started creating music that was mostly influenced by modern thrash metal and crossover. Two years later, ma_in had finally found a vocalist (Goran, ex-vocalist), and in April of 2004 recorded their first demo materal entitled «Conceptional Immortality». Although the band never intended to be a death metal band, the music was defined by brutal death metal vocals. Throughout the next year, ma_in did several successful live preformances, after which they entered Red Light studios, ready to record their next demo, simply called «MA_IN '05». After a stream of personal and musical differences, that were comming to surface for some time, Goran was forced to leave the band. The band was , vocally-wise, again back to ground zero. At the beginning of 2006, Matija (ex -The Rite Of Retaliation) claimed his place in the band as the new frontman. After a month, the band re-recorded vocals and remastered «Confrontation With Reality (Deathbreed)» from their second demo. After a few very successful shows and months of hard work, we conclude year 2006 with another digital statement called «Last Bridge Burning». With these five milestone songs, you have a chance to witness a new perspective of mixing groovy, abrassive thrash metal with finest blend of modern face-peeling hardcore.
Why this name?
In this chaotic world, where human factor is being slowly reduced and exhaled from everyday life, we had to leave some sign and make some kind of statement, claiming that there is still enough passion and resistance in the human touch, that will not be erased or become redundant by any means...
Do you play live?
We had several gigs in the past few years, and now as we released the new record we plan to tour throughout the country. For now we had only good experiences and met generous people on our way.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It opens a large space for both signed and especially unsigned bands. It is the best way to promote your band besides playing live.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, if it wouldn't affect our musical or personal integrity. We would definitely approach it with great caution, but we don't see nothing wrong in making our music more approachable to the wider masses.
Your influences?
We listen to various metal and hardcore bands, new and old, so there is no point in listing them all, the list would go on and on...
Favorite spot?
Our hometown, Zagreb. We have good friends and try to have fun every moment, cause thats what makes us who we are.
Equipment used:
Jackson and Ibanez guitars, Ibanez K5 bass guitar, Pearl and Tama drums. Various Amps...
