A popular L.A. band that combines pop and rock elements with R&B and also rockabilly.
Why this name?
I didn`t choose the name-it hit me over the head.I needed a stage name and when I was grabbing breakfast one morning I saw a Luxury watch sign and it was easy for me to remember.I hope it`s easy for you!The Ice Giants are some of my favorite characters from my friend Robert Westindick`s book "Galen and the City of Light."In a bold and brilliant move,I combined the two and the rest is public record! Our new record will be public also.[ha,ha]
Do you play live?
I liked it!I had three female back-up singers and the shows were really good because of the energy level we put into them.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I`ve found some really great songs and bands on the internet-for example"Shauna and the Hawk" here on Soundclick. It`s a strong organization, and a valuable venue.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I`d sign another contract .
Band History:
Together in various forms for eight. Most of the songs were developed at that time and are now being recorded.
Your influences?
Beatles,Stones,The Rascals,Animals and Motown. Also,Prince,Neal Diamond,The Buffalo Springfield,Uriah Heep,Psy Furs and many others.I also really like Oasis and Smashing Pumpkins.
Favorite spot?
Rio De Janerio
Equipment used:
We usually record on Pro-Tools Plus.We used that at Poyel Studios in Hollywood-which is a great studio.I allways have loved the Kurtzwell-which they provide,by the way.The staff there is incredibily polite and they really make you feel at home. It`s a blast to record there. We also had a great producer-Tony Alverez-who`d worked with Stevie Wonder and other great artists and that allways helps!I like the analog sound also-the board Don used to use at the Sound of Birmingham and was awarded a lot of Addies at- was at the Record Plant once and they sold it to him-that board had a magnificent sound!Very warm. Also we work with David Waterbury a producer and former key member of Spirit and the Boxtops-an amazing talent.
Anything else...?
Thanks to anyone and everyone who has not only listened to this music, but has taken the time to read this.
