Raquela hails from Sacramento, CA. (Elk Grove) and now makes her home in New York City. She studied voice (Opera) and Drama/Music in Los Angeles, which eventually lead her onto Broadway. Some of her credits include the Acid Queen in 'Tommy', Julie in 'Show Boat' as well as original roles in Off-Broadways 'Bat Boy'. Raquela also had the incredible honor of working one-on-one with George C. Wolf, Steven Schwartz, Des McAnuff, Wayne Cilento, Susan Stroman, and Harold Prince.
Raquela's unique vocal style and song writing skills has gotten her seen everywhere. She opened for legendary Freestyle artists like Judy Torres and George Lamond. Raquela's 'chart hits' didn't stop there. For two consecutive weeks straight and after thousands of entries, Raquela and D'Sential's, "YOU'RE GONE" hit #1 on the Dance chart at imgifted.co.uk and on Broadjam.com she hit the "Top 10 Dance chart" for 6 weeks straight with Les Gutaless' "THE FIRE" which was later remixed by Europes admired Latin House DJ/Producer, DJ BeatRex. Recent of all, Raquela, now a proud member of the Recording Arts Academy (Grammy's), teams up with Chicago's legendary, MICKEY Mixin' OLIVER! This original HOT MIX 5 artist was recently listed in The London Observer as one of the 10 most Influential DJ's of all time. And just this year, Mickey's new release, "NOTHIN' MORE TO GIVE-feat. Raquela", recieved Billboard Magazines "Break-Out" for Hot New Club Play. And the saga continues...
Raquela recently became a voting member of NARAS, The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences... The Grammy's!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
In my opinion, for an artist like me, there's now no business in record sales. But there still is in live performances. Thank god!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sony/BMG, Universal
Along with Amathus, Turn The Tables, Water Music and SuperGroove.
Always ready for more.

Hi everybody!
Rumors have been circulating the net in regards to a Las Vegas Dance review by Mickey Oliver. Let me confirm and get everyone clear on the facts... YES! For the past year or so I’ve been feverishly working on a newly staged Dance concept with House legend and original Hot Mix 5 member, Mickey Oliver. (Who just recently had a street sign named after him in downtown Chicago!) It’s theme? The history of American Dance music. We finally got a myspace page completed. It’s up and running live and boy am I grateful.
Here is where you can get the full skinny on Mickey Oliver’s, "In-ten-si-T Reloaded"…

Go check it out! There you will find music, pictures, show dates and video from our latest show.
Our first premier took place on March 24th at the Empire Ballroom. IT WAS FANTASTIC and is a complete on-going success! Although we are in the middle of "talk’s" with a few interested casinos, we continue forward as we workshop the next presentation. The above myspace page will help keep you all updated.
* I want to personally thank everyone on the staff who was and continue to be involved in this project and for helping it become a reality! I mostly want to thank Mickey for his vision and un-dying faith in the creation of this project, in me, and most importantly, in dance music all together!
OK everyone, let’s get ready for the next show! Dance y’all! I said, DANCE!!!
