play lo-fi play hi-fi  Whistler's Waltz

We started playing together a little over ten years ago. JoAnne had been very involved with the Utah Old-time Fiddlers Association and her husband, Mike, and son, Tim, somehow wound up playing guitars as a result of this. We played gigs around town and made a tape, Patchwork, to sell at shows.

Then JoAnne went back to school and earned a Teaching Certificate (she already had a Bachelor's of Music). For the last several years she's been busy running a high school orchestra program and, as a result, the Hinkle Family Band doesn't get out much these days.

This summer, however, we've gathered in the studio to put together a new album. It also looks like we'll be doing one gig somewhere in the vicinity of Tooele of August 13th. Once school is back in session, it'll mark the end of our recording sessions - so fingers crossed that we don't have to wait until next summer to finish this project.

Why this name?
It comes from lack of making up a better one. Interestingly, I found a website the other day for a Hinkle Family Choir, so maybe we'll have to change it to avoid confusion (though I believe we've been around longer than they have).
Do you play live?
Yes, now and then.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I doubt a major label would offer us one.
Your influences?
Between the three of us, a little of everything.
