4- "Yet the songs on the Worst of the Worst can be compelling in their awfulness. Songs like Richard Hackley's rabble-rousing, hackles-raising spiritual God's Backhand ("We're not talking about tennis or Ping-Pong!") "; http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,128113,00.html

5- "Richard Hackley... HUGE musical influence. And a real bad mofo live."; http://rksound.com/site/links.htm

Why this name?
In a sense, the name SongSermons got chosen for me. After different performances, I had different people remark how the songs were like short sermons. I was a little slow to put the two words together, but eventually did. (SongSermons is registered with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office)
Do you play live?
Mostly nursing homes, retirement centers and assisted living facilities. A few correctional institutions and one rehab center.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
For me personally, mp3's reduced the amount of equipment I take to performances. I still must take a sound system. But rather than a dual sided cassette deck, and trays of tapes, I just take my MP3 player.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, but not blindly.
Your influences?
Beethoven and the Beatles.
Favorite spot?
Wherever I'm at. Part of the righteousness in Christ given to us is being in the right place at the right time. You can enjoy other places, but no other place should be your favorite than where you are.
Equipment used:
Cakewalk Pro Audio software. Roland JV-1010 sound module. When performing, I use a Nomad MP3 player to play my backup music.
Anything else...?
Karaoke-type MP3's (music, without the lead vocal) of my songs are available for the asking. Or, if you prefer, I can send the midi file and you can make your own karaoke version.
