A U.K. alternative band with Goth/Punk overtones.Formed in 1999 and boasting female vocals remeniscent of classic Siouxsie And The Banshees and Penetration. Powerful yet moving.Gritty yet smooth. These are the qualities that make the band known as 'Maelstrom'.
Why this name?
We were born with it.
Do you play live?
Yeah, we love playing live! There's nothing like getting out there and interacting with people.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Music should be freely available to everyone. Its not the bands themselves complaining about mp3 sites, just the 'fat cat' record companies.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
NO!NO!NO! We would of course consider donating tracks to record companies,major or independant,for use on compilation albums but we won't sign for any record company unless on our terms.

Equipment used:
Two guitars,bass guitar & a Simmons electronic drum kit. ABSOLUTELY NO drum machines,backing tracks or sequencers were used on the recordings of these tracks.
