Xoo is melodic spacerock, an evolution of heavy psychedelia, prog rock and sci-fi lyrics.
Why this name?
We'd been trying to come up with a new band name for several weeks, then I saw a car parked outside my house with the number plate starting XOO...seemed like fate!
Do you play live?
Not at the moment - still need that most elusive of beings, a drummer who can keep time.
Band History:
SEA (Cheltenham) to Cathode Ray Mission (London) to CRMission to Xoo. But keeping reliable and competent musicians around has proved somewhat difficult, so if you're based in London/Oxford (UK), and play drums and like the music, get in touch!
Your influences?
The great UK spacerock bands: Hawkwind, Spacehead, Litmus, Bedouin, Ozric Tentacles and so on.
Favorite spot?
The Greenway in East London - my 'spiritual' home
Equipment used:
PC running Cakewalk SONAR 7, variety of soft-synths and plug-ins, plus a selection of guitars and basses. Oh, and a voice (allegedly).
Anything else...?
Kevin and James also play with the UK's leading Hawkwind tribute band, The Assassins of Silence. They do play live a lot...
