Okay, so I'm not a band. Actually, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, I have turned into a "one-man band". On my debut album, Trying to be Cool, I performed all of the instruments except for drums. This includes bass, guitar, vocals, violin, keyboards, and more...
On my recently-released second album, Something Different, I played all of the instruments. This album, like my live show, showcases my use of a sampling machine, and was recorded live in the studio. You can pick it up at http://cdbaby.com/jeffmiller2

Why this name?
I didn't choose it; my parents did. And my brother's name is Steve. That's not a joke.
Do you play live?
Yes, I usually play anywhere I can get a gig (at least once), but primarily in coffeeshops, bookstores, and bars. My most memorable live playing experience is when I got the chance to play in South Korea as part of the Dave Pahanish Band, for a series of US Air Force shows on base.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It definitely allows artists to reach a much wider fanbase, something that was virtually impossible even ten years ago, without huge touring efforts. That's a definite plus. However, the minus (in my opinion, at least) is the whole mess we have regarding legal and illegal song downloads.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Are you offering? But seriously, folks...the simple answer is yes. But the contract would have to be a decent one. To make a long story short, most people know that artists and bands often get screwed when they sign deals with big labels. A contract with a major label would be a huge help in getting exposure for my music. And I think this side of the music industry is about to go through some changes, due to the evolving nature of music today.
Band History:
Jeff has been playing music for almost as long as he can remember. Starting with the violin at age 5, he has picked up many instruments and styles along the way. He concentrated mainly on violin and trombone, and classical and jazz music until his freshman year of high school. During the summer before his freshman year of high school, Jeff made the decision to sell all his video games and buy his first guitar. Soon after, the guitar became his primary instrument, and Jeff fell in love with songwriting. The seeds of songwriting were sown during Jeff's high school years, and he was active in many groups, ranging from jazz bands and string quartets to a rock trio.
The musical journey continued when Jeff started classes at Boston's Berklee College of Music. Here he dual-majored in Songwriting and Guitar Performance and studied with the likes of Pat Pattison and Jon Finn. Jeff's songwriting really began to develop and take form at Berklee. It was during these years that Jeff performed and recorded with artists such as Mike Schmid, Stacy Phillips, and Stephan Sharp.
Since completing his dual-major degree in Songwriting and Guitar Performance in 2001, Jeff has played countless venues in the northeast US, won local acoustic competitions, and even traveled to South Korea, to play in a tour of US Air Force bases with the Dave Pahanish Band.
Jeff has appeared on 7 different cds, and just released his second solo album, Something Different. He recently relocated to Nashville, TN, to pursue writing and performing opportunities.
