"If you've ever wondered where the hell North Dakota is, you've come to the right place. North Dakota is the center of North America, and more importantly, the center of nowhere. Made up of flat grassy plains and farm houses, it isnt of much interest. But somewhere in the heart of ND, is a young man who is completely...undeniably....honkey. Christopher Wayne Smart, a North Dakota native, born March 25th 1987 in Ft. Yates ND, is by far the greatest MC to ever live.....no just kidding, but he IS pretty damn good. Raised by his mother alone (R.I.P. Mom) once his father decided to be a kid again, he grew up the way most rappers pretend to grow up. Chris was born Christopher Bloom, until his mother married a man by the last name "Smart" whom she met in college in the late mid 90s. By the late 90s, they divorced, because of, among other things, violent abuse....Chris and his mother suffered through it for 5 long years------long story short. In early 2000, frustration and pent-up anger found their way onto paper, and so began the birth of Smart Alick. Though, he had many names before settling with Smart Alick, including "C-Roc", "Verse-atile", "Maniac", "Physikz", and a few other goofy handles. For a few years, he thought rap was his future, and struggled in school due to firm belief in that. As he grew and matured, reality became clear and he realized how far fetched the music business is. Music is now an outlet, and a hobby Chris enjoys. Smart Alick music is Chris in raw truth, humble honesty, and sorrowful expression. You can't categorize or label music when that particular music is as much alive as the person who made it. There's a lot to be said for that....especially nowadays.
