Surfing, like music, is an artistic reflection of the soul. It is natural that
our spirits are always seeking for the highest and best that life can
offer and to find the best ways to share them with our fellow man.
That's the idea behind the Chief Firewater Surf Band. Chief sez:
"My people are excited about everything our great and wise creator made
for us to enjoy and share with our family and friends... the good earth, good surf
and our happiness to play the best music the Great Spirit helps us make."

Why this name?
We've been on the surfing scene with the "Chief Firewater" brand name since 1987.
Everybody including the surfers liked the Chief, so the name stuck! For many generations,
the Chief and band members loved hearing and making good music, so we thought...

Do you play live?
Yes, in the better studios, as long as they're near the best surf spots,
or at least along the way. Depending on the surf, that could be anywhere,
almost anytime!

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet is the best thing that came along since the invention of
smoke signals! Now we have instant free surf reports, surf cams and
surf music. The Chief is very stoked to be part of the scene and toss his
hat in the ring!

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Chief sez: Yes, if they give us plenty good "wampum"... but we keep our
own firewater and best surf spots, or no deal!

Band History:
For many moons now we've been waxing on, and off. As long as the big Chief
can remember, our history has continued to evolve and get passed down through
many generations of "family friendly" surfers and natives everywhere.

Your influences?
Mostly under the influence of firewater, Chief Firewater that is. Lately we've been touring
around the world thanks to modern flying canoes and the internet. We barter and exchange
good ideas with many friends and natives from all the world's seven seas, wherever good surfing
and music can be found!

Favorite spot?
Anywhere the surf's up, including a few secret surf spots. We always enjoy quality
time in our studios where we do lot's of sonic wave soul surfing!
