This page is for my spoken word project, which I'm assembling now. The cd will feature backing tracks by a number of different artists--sort of a killer mix cd plus me rambling. I'm hoping the list will include Hypersomnia (ambient dreamscapes) Chloe Galvanic (electronic) Helen Furnace (drums+guitar wizardry) and possibly Wolfeyes (noise kings). We'll see.
Why this name?
I was born with a secret name that shattered into tiny transparent beads when I took my first breath. I find little pieces of it when the right people are around. When I get enough to reassemble it, I'll think about changing my name. If you buy that...
Do you play live?
I play live with my band Chalk Outline Party. Will do some spoken shows to promote the record with live music by Helen Furnace.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I'll get back to this one I swear...
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sure. Oh SURE.
Band History:
I've published nonfiction, articles, poetry, interviews, etc. in several city papers, zines, ezines and journals. Sounds great, huh? A long time ago I realized I hated poetry and stopped writing it instantly. I also realized that listening to spoken word cds is great, especially if they have great backing music. It's all become frighteningly clear to me. In fact, I can see through buildings now.
Your influences?
For this spoken word project, influences are William S. Burroughs, Henry Miller, Henry Rollins, Jack Kerouac, Patti Smith, Nick Cave.
Favorite spot?
The painted desert in the SE U.S. Also Bryce Canyon in Utah.
Anything else...?
