Reactor music challenges the notion of what thrash/speed metal is all about. Taking metal in new and fresh directions while adding unusual influences gives Reactor music unique character and personality. More than a burst of energy of frenzied playing, Reactor carefully assembles their music for maximum effect.
Dave Galea (guitar) has a wide range of musical tastes including extreme hardcore thrash, 20th century avant garde classical music as well as melodic commercial music. These extremes influence the many moods of the band's music.
Grant Cormack (bass) is an admirer of classic 70's progressive rock such as Rush and Emerson Lake and Palmer. Reflected in his !-- is his ability to be more than just a supporting player and indeed his playing adds drive as well as acting as a harmonic/melodic counterpoint.
Mike Wattie (drums) To be effective in a heavy band, a crummer needs to be a powerhouse, and Mike is no exception. However, Mike doesn't stop there. His playing features detail and refinement usually found in progressive rock. Mike also writes lyrics for Reactor touching on subjects including social/political issues and self awareness.
Mike "Cee" Cerminara (vocals/2nd guitar) is a fan of horror thrillers, commic books and the Honeymooners. A joker one minute and deadly serous the next, Mike brings his influences of humor and drama to further accentuate Reactor's music.
Reactor was formed in November 1987 and have produced three independant demo releases since then. These cassettes have been reviewed in dozens of fan magazines, some from as far away as Poland, Chile, Malaysia and japan They have also produced a video for "Fake Friends", a song from their second tape and a second video is in the works. In the mean time, the band continues to play live and are featured often on local radio.
Dave Galea later was a founding member of Cryptopsy.
Grant Cormack and Mike "Cee" Cerminara are playing with Stereo Reverend. Grant "Goose" Cormack, Dave Galea and Mike "Mee-Shka" Wattie are playing with Agenda The Rock Band.
