ANUBIS SPIRE gives away album for the holidays.

New York, December 17th:

ANUBIS SPIRE has announced that they are making their latest album "Children Of A Foreign Faith" available for free download until the 1st of 2008. The album, which has garnered praise from critics and fans alike has become the band's best selling offering to date, surpassing in sales ( in a mere six months ) their popular 1998 debut "Old Lions (in the world of snarling sheep)" which continues to sell well a full decade after it's release. "Children Of A Foreign Faith" has drawn comparisons to the concept albums and ambitious rock operas of the 70's and the works of such legendary bands as Dream Theater and Pink Floyd. While it's lyrics deal primarily with the effects of child abuse and all of the life repercussions that it entails, the music, true to course and in patented Anubis Spire style, winds it's way through multiple musical genres yet always remains supportive of the overall concept and mood.

The band said that they decided to offer the free full album download to both thank fans for all their support and to allow those who cannot afford the CD or high resolution paid downloads, a chance to still have a copy of the album. It will be available until New Year's day at www.Soundclick.com/childrenofaforeignfaithanubisspire There are instructions at the page on downloading and burning the album to disk so that it is exactly sequenced and assembled as the commercial release. Songwriter/guitarist Bill MacKechnie said "All we really ask those who download the material is to please share it with those they think might appreciate it. We made it for those who have ears to hear it and think that nothing should stand in the way of bringing it to you. Especially money."

The band is currently back in the studio and promises even bigger news in 2008.

**** A year ago on November 13th, our friend LEO TAGLIALAVORE flew away. We could tell you about all of the great music that he's been responsible for this past year as his friends struggled to not only pay tribute to him but come to some sort of personal closure, but instead we're going to once again suggest you go listen to the man himself. Read the tributes. Read his own words and listen and look at his art. Those of us he left behind will do our best to keep bringing his spirit into our own work and hope that we're making him proud.
