"The Anima is one of the most significant autonomous complexes of all. It manifests itself by appearing as figures in dreams. Jung said that confronting one's shadow is an "apprentice-piece", while confronting one's Anima is the masterpiece. Jung viewed the Anima process as being one of the sources of creative ability. "In Italian and Spanish, Anima is most closely translated as "soul", while in Latin , animus and Anima may both be translated as "soul" or "mind", depending on context." - Jung , (Wikipedia)
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
With the " digital age " fast approaching, it seems the way forward. Also makes it easier to tap new market. Digital downloads are easy, cheap and compatible with most modern day technologies.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I am the owner of Padded Room Recording it's independent and thats the way I like it.
Band History:
Anima was born and bred in south west London. He first got into Drum & Bass after listening to a classic piece of Jungle back in 1995 called, Wishing on a Star, produced by 88.3 and Lisa May. After that first taste he decided that Jungle was the vibe for him and became devoted to the scene, then set about buying old tape packs and e.p's from the likes of Miami, Ibiza, Two Bad Mice, Ruffage Kru and many other heavyweight producers at the time. Since then he has witnessed the Jungle scene spread and evolve into the sounds you hear today. Many, "offspring’s" have sprung up since the 1998 Jungle explosion and at the moment he is feeling the darker deeper sounds of Drum & Bass, but still cannot resist a deep rolling analogue Jungle tune.

He draws influences from the people he has met and the experiences he has had. He does not like to think Drum & Bass should have a certain sound or vibe and hates the fact that most heavyweight producers are basically saying, “This is what Drum & Bass should sound like". He does not compare his sound to anyone else's and likes to think his sound is unique and different, " I try not to let myself get pinned down to a certain "style" of Drum & Bass. I try to be diverse in my productions, but at the same time keeping my sound recognizable to who I am.".

He founded, Padded Room Recordings in 2006, to release his own tunes and cut out the, "thieving middle man". The label it self is dedicated to bringing the more deeper and thoughtful sound to the Drum and Bass scene.
Your influences?
I don't like the idea of being, " influenced ", into doing something I love. I think anyone producing something new, unique, different and not copying other people are influential, as they are not pinning themselves down and are not afraid to be original and experiment with sound.
