This is a solo project from the last few years documenting my playing, recording, and mixing progress.
Why this name?
Slingy is an online alias that I use.
Do you play live?
I do not play live except with friends. I consider myself a home recording hobbyist and have only been recording for the last few years in my spare time.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's great. If I hear something I like on the internet I will always make an effort to buy it, but it is also a great way for people like myself who have no commercial interest, to legally share their own creations with others.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Who? What? Huh? Not likely gonna happen.
Your influences?
Everything from blues to classic rock to metal has some sort of influence. I was huge into punk in the eighties, but I try to just make music I think I would enjoy listening to.
Favorite spot?
No matter.
Equipment used:
Musicman Steve Lukather Signature Model, Musicman Sub1, American Standard Tele, Musicman Sub Bass, Martin D-18, Fender HRD, Epi Valve Special. Almost all of the recordings here however are with Line6 Toneport, PodXT, or PodX3 and a few songs are with a Marshall recorded direct. Some of the older songs use some different guitars and bass.
