Cuffs was born and raised in Snow Hill,MD. After being released from jail in 2003. He moved to Tucson,AZ where he started After Life Entertainment and released My Life, My Words. The album has recieved good reviews and has garnered the attention of magazines such as "Hood Grown"
Why this name?
I took on the name Cuffs because i kept gettin' locked up and it seemed like a natural fit.
Do you play live?
Yeah,I usually perform at Roc M Billards in Tucson,AZ. It's like da official underground spot to perform in town.
I like performing especially for a hype crowd nahmean. When dey really feelin you and get involved. The first time I did "Good Old Days" live a woman came out of da audience walked up to da stage and told me she just wanted to shake my hand cuz da song was so powerful. I was blown away cuz I ain't no where yet and I can have dat affect on people its crazy.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Definetly, dey put you into the major leagues ya feel me. More money more exposure more erything. Da way I see it you can only be in da majors by either gettin' a major distribution deal like Cash Money or gettin signed and blow like dat. Dere da only two ways.
Your influences?
None, all great innovators in music are original and aren't influenced by other artists. For example who was James Brown influenced by? Every interview I've seen of his he says his music was so different from what was out that he couldn't even relate to his contemporaries.
