In the gravel yard

A hot Bluegrass Band from Italy, exactly from Bologna, a nice and famous town almost in the centre of Italy. These five guys play from traditional to progressive bluegrass, and this can be clearly heard in this very nice first recording. The band include Lead singer Giovanni Stefanini on mandolin, Gianluca Naldi on banjo, Paolo Ercoli on resonator guitar, Giovanni Zordan on guitar and Pedro Judkowsky on double bass. The band has worked hard from january-may 2006 to release their cd, and be ready and able to partecipate to the very one European Bluegrass Festival that is taking place every year in Holland during the month of may, in which this year they had the 3rd place on over 40 bands from all Europe. That was a real honor for them, and motivate them in going and continuing to play their hard driving bluegrass. They also received a good review from two of the best Bluegrass and Acoustic magazine, Bluegrass Unlimited and Flatpicking Guitar magazine. The well known bluegrass singer Kathy Chiavola said "the fact they are native Italians belies their natural affinity for bluegrass. Gifted musicians who have done their homework. Wonderfully performed songs, well arranged and recorded. I know you will enjoy this cd as much as I do" John Lawless said " I was delighted to hear the music of Bononia Grass. Congratulations to you all on the release of your first recording". Review cd writer Don Kissil said "It's real down home bluegrass, there are no hot licks and it's easy listening to the genuine thing, bluegrass wise". IIIrd Time Out banjo player Steve Dilling said " Your cd sounds great!I wish that the fans over here in the US could hear you guys. Great job! And one on the biggest Italian name on bluegrass mandolin Martino Coppo said "Thank you Bononia Grass for this first album. I am sure it will lead to future projects and hopefully will reawaken the Italian Bluegrass music scene". Hope you will enjoy.
