My name is Astroid Andy and I want to expand your mind. All my music is free, so feel free download any and everything I have available. SoundClick has shortened (up to 3 minutes on some songs) my MP3's, so if you'd like a copy of my CD's uncut just send me an e mail at Astroid_Andy@yahoo.com and I'll send you a copy for free. I'm not here to make money, I'm here to help you find untapped realms in your subconscious through sounds, or make you dance. I'm just a kid who has a deep passion for music, and in search of enlightenment through sounds. I don't take myself too seriously, I do enjoy making Trance/House/Techno/Breakbeat songs as well. I think variety is great thing, and I like to tap into different genres of music.
Band/artist history
Starting the music industry at the end of '04, Astroid Andy had a natural knack for experimenting with sounds. His first album (under the previous name DJ Acid Trip) "Tha Acid Trip" was nothing more than a collaboration of sounds and experimentation. All though he felt as if he didn't get his kick until about 4 albums in, he is not ashamed of his past work. "It was just my getting used to the idea of me making music, it's really cool if you take it into consideration that I had no idea what I was doing" says Andy on his first 2 albums. DJ Acid Trip generated quite a buzz in the internet community, getting tons of hits on SoundClick and MySpace. "I was really surprised, I didn't think people would like or understand my type of music. It was constantly changing, I would make like 4 or 5 songs blended into one at first. But as I got the hang of things, my style matured and with the realase of Insanity Meter:Full, I felt I had finally done something right" Astroid Andy recalls. And he was right, Insanity Meter:Full got 1,000 downloads in the first month. Being his most popular album, a year later he came out with a special edition of the CD with 4 extra bonus tracks and a remix to a few already on there. Also it came with a low quality DVD called Mental Manipulation, consisting of "Music Videos" that were collobarations of diffrent images and color patters, mathing the music very well. The DVD was never realesed, but the new songs were golden. "Oh man, people loved them. I tryed some new genres, Drum-n-Bass, Acid House, and even threw some jam band guitar in there. It was really cool to get so much positive feedback" Soon he realeased "Blackhole EP" and "Murder in the Forest". Blackhole was a spacy trance album through and through, and it did as well and if not better than Insanity. Murder in the Forest was a mix of two albums he was working on at the time, "Coming Down Off A Bad Trip" and "Insyde the Mind". "Murder was wierd to me. It had out takes from failed albums, unrealesed songs from Normality is Not Reality, and some new experiments I was working on. More or less, that album was something I did for the fans, not so much to expand my musical ablity. In my eyes, I've always view 'Murder' as my greatest misses, but I think it's a good collection of varity. People didn't give that one much noise, seeing as promotion was very low, and it just came out unanouced." Blackhole was the opisite for him though. It did very well in the charts and downloading. "If you only download one song from Blackhole, your missing out. It was one 58 minute song, chopped up in 7 increments. It was so fun to do, it was unlike any of my previous realeases" After Blackhole, he began production on Rings of Saturn, a sequal to Blackhole. "This was my best album by far as DJ Acid Trip. I went in several diffrent directions, even doing an all Noise song called 'Subliminal Insanity' that was very odd but very beautiful at the same time. I got to try strait techno, something I had never done. I would add techno elements to my songs, but I finally just did a techno song strait throug. I got to do some dark ambience, and just had a lot of fun doing it all." Unfortuantly, Rings of Saturn was realesed unfinished, due to Andy's personal life. After that, Astroid Andy took a year and half break from music. Once returned, he dawned a new name and a completly new style and sound. "When I started making music under Astroid Andy, it was everything I ever dreamed about. I had gotten some really good software to use, new genres to play with, and new infulences from my vast library of electronica music." A month after returning, Astroid Andy dropped the A-Bomb on the world, realesing his 8th album "Embracing the Light", and album about sobriety, recovery, and loss. The album was dedacated to his Aunt Stephanie, who had helped him through such a rough patch in his life. "The songs sounded so diffrent from my old material, it sounded so clean and crisp. It was like opening a Pepsi, only to find that your drinking Coke. The software was so neat to use, and only took a few songs to get used to it. I was making music everday, and I was so proud of the outcomes." When the finishing touches were put on Embracing The Light, Andy burned 20 copies of the CD before it's internet release on SoundClick and MySpace, and passed it out to people for free. The feedback was fantastic, people loved the new music. "I had a little doubt, I mean my music doesn't sound like your typical electronica, so I didn't know if I should make another album or not. I personally like it a lot, but I needed input. When it came, I was so happy. People were promoting my stuff, and really liking it. So I began work on my next album" His next album, "What You Are About To Hear Is Classified" began, and was even better than "Embracing". "I used so many diffrent elements on 'What You Are About To Hear'. I used psy-trance, drum and bass, detroit techno, chicago house, industrial, and even funk. It was amazing." Astroid Andy has just realesed "What You Are About To Hear" on SoundClick, for free download. In 2008 Astroid Andy has again taken a complete 360 with his sound and produced/created a brand new album "Consumed", an ambient experience unlike anything he has ever done.

I'm not here to steal your dollar, I'm not here to put songs on the radio. I'm here to expand the way you think about the world around you. And while I may not be able to completly show you my full catalog of work due to the cheapness of myself and the restrictions on a free membership on here, SoundClick.
