I am an R&B/Soul/Pop and Contemporary Christian singer. Some of my songs have a touch of Rock and Blues to them, and I have the ability to sing Classical/Operatic pieces. I write all of my music and have the ability to produce. I am also an award winning poet and writer! Two of my poems are published. One can be found in A Celebration of Young Poets- Fall 2002, and another can be found in the Poetpourri Jr. Contest Booklet for Syracuse, New York 1994. I am the recipient of an excellent ribbon in the 2000 Florida League of Christian Schools Writing Competition as well!
I grew up in a musical family. Both sides of my family loved singing. I remember singing since 3, but my mom says that I have been singing since I was a just a baby. I sing many genres including: Classical, Pop, R&B, Soul, Gospel, etc. I have won awards for solo and ensemble performances, and I have been apart of school choral groups. I have been recognized by many for my wonderful songwriting ability. My portfolio contains over 50 songs I have created thus far.Band/artist history
Arielle is a native of a small town called Syracuse, which is located in the central region of New York State. As a highly exceptional student, her entire life she has thought of going into the medical field, under the influence of her mother, but instead decided to go with the love in her heart for music. Around the age of 6, she wrote her very first song, "I Love You", which expressed her love for the people who meant most to her in her life (her mother, father, her cat, Muffin, and most important to her, God).
At age 8, she relocated to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She attended Phyl's Academy Prep School. She was very much involved in their music class and was even given the chance to perform a solo at a local nursing home in her first year. She performed the well known song "My Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music.
After Phyl's, Arielle attended Abundant Life Christian Academy where she became apart of the school's Honor Choir. Arielle was given a solo in their annual Christmas musical by the director. From there, the director recommended that she begin participating in the F.L.O.C.S. Fine Arts Competition, which is held annually. Arielle performed a song by Babbie Mason called "Holy Spirit You Are Welcome Here" and received an excellent ribbon. The following year she was invited back by two fellow friends who asked her to accompany them in the performance of Mark Heimermann and Stacie Orrico's hit song "Don't Look at Me," and the group won an excellent rating.
After all her hard work, Arielle did not even think of pursuing a professional music career until around 11 or 12 years-old when she wrote the songs "What About You" and "I Don't Really Know." That is when she began to realize that she was not only born with a talent for singing but also for songwriting and producing her own material.
By 13, Arielle decided to take a chance by auditioning for a school vocal program. She auditioned at the Parkway Middle School of the Arts, singing Yolanda Adams's "Yeah". She soon received a letter of acceptance informing her that she was, in fact, accepted into the program. At Parkway, she performed many songs in the Metronome II Vocal Group and had the chance to experience what it was like to perform at evaluations for the FVA. The young and greatly enthused performer says, "Being apart of this group has taught me very much about what is like to work in the music industry and be apart of an organization that is dedicated to ensuring their students with the knowledge of music. This is great!" All of her experience has given her a greater realization that her musical journey was just about to begin!
From Parkway, Arielle moved on to Dillard High School. Dillard High School is the only public magnet high school of the performing arts in Broward County, Florida. At Dillard's vocal audition, Arielle performed two songs of her choice (one entitled "I Worship You" by MercyMe and the other "Have You Seen but the White Lily Grow" by an anonymous author). Arielle was very proud when she was notified of her acceptance into Dillard, as well. At Dillard, Arielle was a part of the Center for the Arts Chorale, and she was also involved in creating and producing musical projects including commercial jingles, music composition entry songs, and individualized group music projects. Arielle recalls that a very rewarding time for her was when she was selected by the her vocal techniques instructor to perform a Baroque Italian art song entitled, "Se Tu M'ami, Se Sospiri". "I had no idea that the teacher was going to choose me to sing for the school's open house, but I was very glad I had the opportunity to perform in front of all the new students." Arielle feels that Dillard was also a very good place for her to "discover the true artist within herself," she says. "At Dillard, I would always spend a lot of time alone or with my friends in the practice rooms and create songs on the piano. Whenever I was having a bad day, I would always go to the practice rooms and write a new song. My friends and I would have a lot of fun in there, but no one really understood it but us and our vocal teacher. It was a personal thing. They all knew how much I loved mmuch I loved music, and I dream of sharing my music with the entire world, one day. In a good way, to help people."
Currently, Arielle continues to pursue her passion. She sings and writes music at home and in the studio and performs wherever she is invited. "I don't think I'll ever stop singing. 'Music makes me feel complete inside', as one of my songs says, and I think I will always want to do it for the rest of my life. My former vocal techniques teacher saisaid that a true artist is one that still practices their craft whether he/she is having a good day or a bad day. A true artist is someone who feels what's deep inside of them regardless of their circumstances. That's when I thought to myself, 'Hmm...That sounds a lot like me.'"Have you performed in front of an audience?I have performed many solo and ensemble performances, and I have attended two performing arts magnet schools where I have performed for a couple of years now. I also sometimes perform at different churches around the North/Central Florida area.
Your musical influences
My musical influences are: My mother (who sings a lot of Traditional and Classical music), my father (singer of many genres of older music such as Jazz, Blues, Contemporary, Classical, and Christian), my late and highly respected grandmother who would always play the piano for me when I was a small child, Stacie Orrico, Alicia Keys, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Yolanda Adams, Jessica Simpson, Kierra Sheard, Cece Winans, Pharrell Williams, Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, J. Moss, Martha Munizzi, Judy Jacobs, JoJo, Tiffany Evans, and many other musically talented individuals. I have an appreciation for these people because their character and ability inspires me very much in my own music, and I also believe that these genres attract and reach a wide spectrum of people from young to old.Anything else?
Why music?: I always had a deep love and appreciation for music. I am the type of person who will immediately start writing when I am happy, sad, or mad, and I won't stop until my train of thought is over. Songs come to me at different times in my life. My favorite way to release the experiences I have gone through in my life is through music. It just makes me feel so much better, and I know that my music is going to help a lot of people out one day through it's positive messages.
What does your music sound like?: My music has a mixture of lot of different genres in it. Some of my songs sound like those type of hit songs that people can dance to. Others possess a very deep sound, which goes along with the very deep and real message that I am trying to portray. Whatever type of music I make, I always try to create music that relates to my audience and compelling in both the Christian and Secular markets. My music is traditional, modern, and for the future. It is hard to find that in a lot of artists, but each song I create has a completely different feel to it.
My vision as an artist: To impact the world (especially youth) in a positive way. I want my music to cause change in the lives of others. I enjoy music that has the ability to strengthen the smallest, most feeble of people, and that is my goal as an artist: to sing uplifting music that causes change and meets people where they are.
Artist persona: My persona as an artist has a lot to do with the messages in my songs and the genres of music I sing and play. I try my very best to stay grounded through prayer. It helps me to stay normal in this type of task that can either "make you or break you."
Are you ready?: Definitely! I have been ready to pursue my passion since I was a little girl, and I am dedicated to working hard and showing enthusiasm. I have also had a lot of performance experience, and I am being exposed a lot here in my community. I have been asked to sing at many places from children's centers to parties. I am also being home schooled right now, which helps me to be more flexible and travel where I am needed.
What sets you apart from the rest?: I am a young person dedicated to helping out other young people with my music. In addition to singing, I also write my own material and play the piano. I have a very strong sense of what I want to do and how to do it.
What can representation do for you?: Representation can only help me to reach my goals even more than I can by myself. By myself I cannot do as many things as I have in mind with my music, but with the proper representation I can go above and beyond in my ministry. I can get widespread promotion and exposure, and be sent to places where my music will have a great impact. I also need professionals who will give me special artist services.
