50 Cent Ride is an alternative metal band from the Boise Area. Our sound is powerful and dynamic and we take an old skhool approach to writing and playing. Driven by two lead guitarists 50 Cent Ride's sound can crush bone or make little schoolgurls wet..... it just depends on our mood. We don't write music for a particular genre. We just write what we feel, so our catalogue of music has a very wide range from driving power rock to full out metal. With over 50 ORIGINAL tunes and just as many covers, 50 Cent Ride is set to rock ANY venue. Check out our other page at
Why this name?
We were playing at a huge rock and roll show at a City Festival and were scheduled to go on in twenty minutes. While wandering through the carnival we saw a big sign by a petting zoo that said "50 Cent Ride." We looked at each other and said "That's IT! There's the name!" Cool name and sexual innuendos to boot. Perfect!
Do you play live?
We have played live shows throughout the Boise and surrounding areas. We have played the Sundance in Payette and are a house band of sorts there. We open for a lot of regional and national acts that come through there... and headline for some of them. :) We have also played a lot of rock and roll shows and battles of the bands and so on. We have played Bogies, the Neurolux, The East Side, and A few other clubs that I have long since forgotten. One of the coolest experiences was in fact I would have to say our first show ever. It was at that rock and roll show and we were the headliner. There were over 700 people in the crowd that we could see and it was a raging concert. All the gurls who snubbed me in High School were screaming my name and trying to touch me and trying to get my number.... one in particular came through security and kissed me on stage.... and the show was a lot of fun. Definately one of the coolest shows we have ever played.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think in a lot of ways it has been very beneficial to get unsigned artists out there so people can hear them. I know that without the internet our success would come with a lot more blood, sweat, and tears.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Absolutely. There are a lot of people out there who would scream SELLOUT and what not but I personally go where the money is. Don't get me wrong.... I am all about the buzz and the music. I live for music and am probably going to die for music.... but I am doing it as a career and not a hobby. Hobbiests do free shows. I know there is a ton of money out there if you are good enough and devoted enough to go after it. Signing with a major label is a dream of mine.... even if I am just a one hit wonder I can still look back and say. "I did it." And if I did it once maybe someday I could do it again.
Band History:
50 Cent Ride was formed in May of 2001 to perform at a local rock and roll show as the headliner. Originally intended to be only a project band, the popularity of 50 Cent Ride demanded that they remain in the limelight and become a full time rock act. Since the first show in June of 2001, 50 Cent Ride has weathered a lot of changes from recording 3 full length underground albums (50 Cent Ride, Cheap Thrills, and Dark Symmetry) to losing the founding bass player and rhythm guitarist. Today their line up includes The Reverend the founder of the band, lead vocalist, lead guitarist, and songwriter; Aaron co founder, drummer, and voaclist; the Axeman co founder, lead guitarist two, and vocalist. The newest addition to 50 Cent Ride is Dafyd B. on bass guitar and vocals. They are currently working on a new album project including 11 new songs which are nothing short of spectacular. The new album is due to be released on a small scale in early March. If demand is great enough it will be mass produced and be available nation wide.

Anything else...?
If you come to our shows you will be an instant fan. Every time the music gets harder, the party gets wilder, and nothing is ever the same twice. Join us, won't you. The vacuous world of sex, drugs, and rock and roll isn't such a bad place. Come prepared!!
