10cm is a 4-piece band from Manila, Philippines.
- rhythm guitar, vocals
- drums
- bass, vocals
- lead guitar
10cm was formed in 2004 by classmates Jezm and Roachy. They were in college then and two years short from finishing the Nursing course. Roachy's brother Lester played guitar for the band. The lineup for vocals was not permanent then. Some of their friends played with them during practice sessions where they cover local and international artists like Urbandub, Chicosci, Green Day, Blink-182, etc. Roachy's friend Bloodytom joined at the latter part of the year to do additional guitar and vocals, and the band's lineup has been permanent from then on.
The name 10cm was coined by Roachy after the size of a fully dilated cervix of a birthing woman. It was probably due to his prolonged exposure in the OB ward and the delivery room during their internship as nurses. (For any violent reactions regarding this matter, please direct all the e-mails to him.)
They first started covering songs from artists like Green Day and Size 14. Soon they played a song written by Bloodytom and from there they were able to write a few more songs.
The band was managed by Jezm's girlfriend Chepai before she went to the US. They played in a few gigs in a couple of bars and in some productions around the city. They also played in an event in their university. Their collaboration with a schoolmate's band Drawing Board also landed them on a couple of gigs. Jezm played drums for them while they were in search of a drummer, and Bloodytom guested in one song.
Although presently not performing in any gigs, the band is having constant practice, developing their songs and making new ones. They hope to release an EP soon when their paychecks can already cover the expenses.
At present, three members namely Bloodytom, Jezm and Roachy are nurses while Lester still has to go to college.
As of now, we don't have any gigs.
Size 14, Blink182, Green Day, Sum41, The Offspring, Alkaline Trio
Nothing special. We are not picky as long as it sounds ok for our music. We use two electric guitars with amps and distortion, a bass with amp, and a drum set.
